Thank God for Tylenol PM
Seriously. Some nights there is just no way I'd be able to get to sleep without them. Like tonight, when I didn't get off work until 1 AM, but I have to go back to work at 9 AM. Yeah, that really sucks. But at least I'll get some sleep as soon as these pills kick in.
Saturday night, or should I say Sunday morning, I wasn't so lucky. I left work at about 2:30 AM, and had to be back for a mandatory meeting at 7 AM. Then, I had to work at 11 AM. I ended up with about an hour of sleep, which caused me to have another seizure and I had to miss the meeting and a day's work.
Hopefully that won't happen this time. I had a talk with my boss, and it looks like this is going to be the last time I'm scheduled to work like this. My hours are still pretty crazy, but at least I'll have time to sleep!

Whoops!
Almost 2 months without a post. I don't have a good excuse for not posting. I meant to, I just never got around to it.
In knitting news, I finished my sockpal's socks and got them in the mail. They were a tiny bit late, but I emailed my pal and it was okay by her. I finished them a quite a while before I was able to mail them. I had a little bit of a financial crisis going on here.
I've turned the heel and am halfway through the gusset on the first of my pomatomus socks. (No links! I'm way too lazy right now!) I'll get a picture as soon as I remember to get some new batteries for my camera.
Now- on to life stuff!
I had a seizure at work a few weeks ago that resulted in a head injury and a week off. A week without pay, that is. And wouldn't you know it was the week when most of my bills were due. Needless to say, I got behind on everything and am just now getting caught up. That was my little financial crisis.
Other than that, things have been great. We're all happy and healthy and all that good stuff. And now I must go clean my house. My house. I love being able to say that!

All moved in
We've finally gotten most of our stuff in our new house. We've been here for just over a week, and we all love it. No more answering to my dad! It's a great feeling, let me tell ya. And the fact that I paid for every bit of it myself makes it even better. I've still got quite a bit to unpack, but that shouldn't take me too long.
I got a new job, too. It's just fast food, but I love it. Everyone there is great, and I have just as much fun at work as I do at home.
I haven't had much time to knit or anything else, but I have done a few rounds on my sockpal's socks. And I just realized that I never posted that knitting update from about 2 weeks ago. I've just been so darn busy! I like it that way, though.

And so it begins
I go to sign the lease on my apartment Thursday, and I should be able to start moving in Friday. I want to get out of here as fast as possible (sounds terrible, doesn't it?), so I need to start packing now. I actually started on my room Friday, but I haven't gotten anything but my stash packed. I've just been sitting here all day, waiting for a phone call that never came (why does he always do this to me?), and doing nothing.
I looked in the girls' room and it hit me - we have a lot of stuff. So much that I'm not sure I can get it all packed by Friday. I have about a million loads of clothes to wash and sort. I'll probably end up getting rid of at least half of the girls' clothes. And the toys! I'm planning on getting rid of quite a bit of those, but I'll have to get the kids out of the house first. Lucy's in school, so that isn't a problem, but I'm going to have to pawn Beth off on someone one day this week.
There's a lot more clutter tha normal here right now, too. I've been shopping up a storm getting ready to get my own place. I haven't lived on my own since JW and I split up 4 years ago, and what I didn't leave behind, I ended up getting rid of. I had to buy everything again, and I've gotten most of it. I still need a couch and some curtains. The curtains will have to wait until I can measure the windows in the apartment, and I'm having a hell of time finding an affordable couch. I'm trying to talk my dad and stepmom out of that ugly brown love seat in the family room. Nobody ever sits on it anyway, But that still isn't enough seating. I'll come up with something, though. I always do.

More where that came from
How did I miss that April 1st was flash your stash day? It's technically not the 1st anymore, but I'm joining in on this anyway.

This is nowhere near all of my stash, it's just all that I could get to at the moment (there's more yarn on its way to me, too). The rest is packed and ready to move. Yes, that's right, MOVE! We're finally getting a place of our own. Our apartment should be ready for us next weekend, and I'm so excited.
I have a good knitting update for tomorrow, but I'm off to bed right now. I've got a date (sort of) in the morning.

A trip to the "big city"
Lucy and I made the trip to Chattanooga this morning for a day of shopping fun. Both of the girls needed new clothes, and Gap is the only place that I can get pants that fit Lucy right. We dropped Beth off at my brother's house around 9, and off we went.
Our first stop - Genuine Purl. I've been wanting to go there for about a year, but this was the first chance I've had. I oohed and aahed over all the yarn for a good half hour before Lucy started getting bored. I bought a set of 5" size 2 Brittany dpn's and a pair of 16" size 7 Addi Turbos, which came to $24.03. I can't believe I only spent $24 in there! Of course, they didn't have a good selection of sock yarn(that I was aware of anyway. I was busy trying to keep Lucy from touching stuff), and that's just about the only thing I'm interested in at the moment. They did have quite a bit of Regia, but none of the colors looked appealing to me.
I was planning on going to Great Balls of Yarn next (I didn't even know it existed until last night!), but I left the directions lying on my desk and couldn't remember how to get there. I knew I had to go down Market and turn somewhere, but for some reason I thought it was Main St. I looked and looked and never did find it. Turns out I should've turned on 14th St. I was so close!
After that we headed to Hamilton Place and the surrounding area. We shopped for about 4 hours, and now the girls have new wardrobes. We bought a couple of fun things, too. Lucy got a sketchbook and a set of colored pencils at A.C. Moore (I resisted the yarn in there, too!). She's my little artist, and that just had her tickled pink.
She also got very excited about all of the books in Barnes & Noble. I had to practically drag her out of there. Just a couple of months ago I was worried that she'd be like her dad and hate reading, but after that I think she's going to be just fine. A love of reading is something that I want for both of my girls.
We finally got back home at about 4:00. We were gone for 7 hours, and Lucy was dead tired. I expected her to get whiney, but she never did. She behaved so well today, and I'm so proud. I have to spend so much time with Beth - making sure that she isn't destroying something or doing something dangerous (that girl is WILD) - that Lucy and I don't get a lot of alone time. So this girls' day out was something that we both needed.
