Yarn? Check.
Pattern? Not so much.I've decided on this Regia Canadian Color #4731 (Quebec) for my sock pal. (Click here for swatch.) I just have no clue as to what pattern to use - it was hard enough to choose the yarn! For a while there I was leaning toward the Rib & Cable socks from the Fall 2005 IK, which I may still do, but there are so many other patterns I like too. Somebody help me choose, please!
Here are some others:
- Crooked Cable Socks (pdf file)
- Falling Leaves
- Embossed Leaves from the Winter IK
- Elfine Socks
These aren't my only options, and any pattern suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I can't wait to start working on these socks!

What about something that will show off the self-striping nature of the yarn, like the Jaywalker pattern, or the Broadripple pattern from Knitty? For me personally, self-striping yarn kind of obscures the beauty of lacy patterns like Elfine or Embossed/Falling Leaves, but you could always swatch the stitch patterns and see how they look.

Oh, I see, it knits up more like a variegated. I like those colors--nice and muted. I think they would make lovely Elfines!
